I am Laura Harding, a fully qualified and insured Reflexologist based in Warlingham, Surrey. I work from my quiet and peaceful treatment room which is easily accessible from Upper Warlingham and Whyteleafe train stations and bus routes into Warlingham village. There is also free parking available onsite.
Whether you are looking to try reflexology for help with stress levels or sleep, for support with a health condition, or simply for some “me time”, the aim of my treatments will be to help you achieve a greater feeling of well-being.
I have a Level 5 Diploma in Practitioner Reflexology from Centralia. I have also completed training on reflexology in Cancer Care with Butterfly Touch Therapies Ltd.
I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists, Professional Reflexology and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council.
Reflexology is a touch-based complementary therapy. As a practitioner, I work by applying gentle pressure on my clients’ feet and/or hands, locating specific points (reflexes) that relate to different areas of the body. The aim of the treatment is to rebalance the body to enable the body to heal itself. Reflexology is a holistic therapy, meaning that I work on my client as a whole. It can benefit clients by helping with deep relaxation, improving sleep and mood, and promoting a sense of general wellbeing. It is also a lovely way to relax!
Reflexology is suitable for clients of all ages and can be carried out in conjunction with conventional medicine as a complementary therapy. However, it cannot be used to diagnose, cannot claim to cure and is not an alternative to conventional medicine.
Treatments begin with a brief telephone consultation to discuss the therapy and your objectives. This enables me to make sure there are no contra-indications to treatment taking place. At your first “in person” session, I will then take a more detailed medical history.
You will remove your shoes and socks and then I will settle you on to the treatment table/lafuma chair (depending on your preference) with supporting bolsters and a blanket (if required) and then the treatment will commence. Each treatment will last between 50 to 60 minutes.
Reflexology is not an invasive therapy - you need only to lie back and relax. It isn’t ticklish nor as deep into the tissues as some types of massage so, while some points may be a little tender for a short time, it should not be painful. I will tailor the treatment to your preference and check on how you are feeling as the treatment progresses.
The initial telephone consultation is free. Each treatment session is priced at £50.
Initially, for the first month or so, I usually recommend weekly sessions. Some of my clients may then have monthly or longer intervals between sessions - it depends on how you feel.
